Five ways to get into Graphic Novels

Ms. Keating and I have noticed that our students LOVE graphic novels. They are always being taken out of the library and put on holds. So, I want to share with you today some ways you can access comics online!

1. Comixology - If you're wanting to read a graphic novel or comic online, see if they have what you're looking for here! There are some free comics, and others that you have to buy. Don't forget - you can also get ebooks online from our local library free here.

2. Pixton - This is one of my favourite websites to write comics with! It's super easy to use, and if you're worried about drawing - the website does it for you!

3. Raina Telgemeier - Raina is the author of 'Smile' and dozens of other graphic novels that are popular at our school. Check out the video below to watch how she wrote 'Sisters'!

4. Dav Pilkey - The author of Captain Underpants and Dogman, Dav Pilkey is incredible at writing graphic novels! Check out the video below to create your own 'flip-o-rama':

And here he is reading from Dog Man:

5. Jeff Kinney - Any Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans? Find out how to draw Greg below!
